Battle In The Wilderness
Two armies meet in the hills between the Similkameen and Tulameen valleys in a clash for world domination. Two generals, who at one time were allies, now command the two armies and are bitter foes meeting to prove who is the better man. This is Battle In The Wilderness!
As with all Princeton Paintball Group’s events, Battle In The Wilderness (BITW) has some unique aspects that are not found else, where. Although BITW is a BYOP event, we have a paint limit of one 2000-round case of paint. Some people email and call me asking why a paint limit? The answer is rather simple: this adds to the militaristic aspect of the game. When you only have 2000 rounds, you have a supply issue to deal with. You can’t run out the first day and dominate the field with massive paint flows, because if you do the other team will take the second day with ease. Another PPG rule is the way we reincarnate players: if you have been hit you have to go to a sign in table at the centre of the field. You sign in with the time of your sign-in, and then you return to your flag station .5km away, where you sign in again. There is no wait before you can rejoin the game. The walk allows the advancing team adequate time to reach the flag station before the reinforcements arrive.
This year we have been working hard to add new twists to the game to make it more interesting and more challenging. We have added a medic to the rosters. A medic will make it harder for teams to make massive point advancements without completing missions and flag captures, or will it? There will be some more field development, and flag stations will be moved again to make them a mystery for returning players. We are working hard to ensure that teams and friends will be able to play together. We don’t want to have to split groups up, but if numbers are uneven we will have no choice.
